Ming-Chi Kuo: Apple to could sell 30 million ‘iPhone SE 2’ units in 2020

According to a recent report from Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, Apple are expected to sell at least 20 million units of the new iPhone SE 2 smartphone in 2020, they could possibly sell around 30 million units.

The new handset, which will be physically identical to iPhone 8 with a 4.7-inch Retina HD display, will arrive during the first quarter of 2020, Kuo says. It is expected to sell 30-40 million units next year.

The analyst didn't say how much the phone might cost, but the iPhone 8 sells for $449. The iPhone SE went for $349 before it was discontinued. Kuo predicts iPhone SE2 shipments will hit 30 million to 40 million units in 2020.

According to the analyst this new iPhone SE 2 will feature the same design as the iPhone 8 but unlike 8 it will offer the latest specifications such as A13 Chip and 3GB of RAM. While Kuo has not specified the pricing for this new iPhone model he does says that he predicts Apple will sell 30 to 40 million units of this device in 2020.

"It looks very similar to the iPhone SE (2020), a second refurbishment of the iPhone 8, and it is even less likely to arouse consumer demand," Taiwan-based Isaiah Research analyst Eddie Han said, cutting his forecast sales for the model by 5 million units.
