The Handmaid's Tale Season 5 - Episode 4 |WORK|

WARNING: Spoilers for The Handmaid's Tale season 5, episode 4.The Handmaid's Tale season 5, episode 4 sees June and Serena come face-to-face once again after their harrowing encounter in episode 3, while the stage is set for a battle of wills between the two. As June has dealt with the personal fallout from murdering Fred, Gilead has taken advantage of the unique position they find themselves in. Serena has been sent to Canada as an ambassador in the effort to shore up support for Gilead on an international scale.

The Handmaid's Tale Season 5 - Episode 4

Screen Rant caught up with The Handmaid's Tale season 5, episode 4 writer Jacey Heldrich to talk all the latest developments, including Aunt Lydia and Janine's relationship, that moment between Nick and June, and Serena's return to Canada.

Jacey Heldrich: 100%. Their desire to make June public enemy number one certainly helps. I think, like we said early in the episode, the Gilead commanders are not going to stand for a Handmaid who killed her commander, and similarly, Serena has been no friend of the regime when she was in Canada last season. She was giving [Canada] information, and she was cooperating before she kind of pivots back. So they recognize that all kinds of powerful women are problematic and if they can take care of each other then...

Jacey Heldrich: So much of this season is about combating the demons in yourself, and I think so much of June's angst over Serena, which, of course, is all justified - it's very much about who she is coming out of Gilead as well. So much of the show is predicated on this idea - Serena has reiterated this season what June said about Serena - "You don't know what she is." So much of this episode and of the season is June reckoning with a monster inside of her, with the Offred inside of her. And when she thinks about Serena, all she can see is the blind rage and the ways that Serena has hurt her, and unable to let go. And then challenging Rita and saying like, "Somebody agree with me on how horrible she is," and it's not happening.

All of the new season is now available to watch on Hulu in the US after the season finale aired on November 9. In Canada viewers could watch it on the CTV Drama channel. Viewers in Ireland are two weeks behind on RTÉ2 at 10:35pm so are currently only on episode 8.

The promo clip was recently released along with a synopsis for the episode to give viewers a glimpse into what to expect when the show airs. The official synopsis for episode 4 of The Handmaid's Tale season 5, reads:

The cast list for episode 4 of the fifth season of the hit series includes Elisabeth Moss as June Osborne, Yvonne Strahovski as Serena Joy Waterford, Madeline Brewer as Janine, Ann Dowd as Aunt Lydia, O-T Fagbenle as Luke, Max Minghella as Nick, Samira Wiley as Moira, Bradley Whitford as Commander Lawrence, and Amanda Brugel as Rita.

As always with The Handmaid's Tale, there was a bit of a delay before the TV show started to be broadcast on UK screens. The fifth season of the award-winning show started on Channel 4 on Sunday October 23, 2022 with the hotly-anticipated season finale arriving on Monday December 19 (the last two episodes were broadcast on back-to-back nights as the Sunday schedule was cleared for Christmas listings...)

Of course, there's another way that UK viewers can watch the latest instalment of The Handmaid's Tale too as Amazon's Prime Video streaming service also has the broadcast rights in the UK. The first four seasons are available to watch without adverts, with new (advert-free) episodes added each week after they're broadcast on Channel 4.

Following this back-to-back start to the season on September 14, 2022 (episode one is entitled Morning, while the second episode is called Ballet) The Handmaid's Tale season five returned to a weekly schedule. In total, the fifth season consists of 10 episodes, with everything wrapping up (on Hulu) by November 9, 2022.

We've also got details on how to stream all episodes of The Handmaid's Tale S05 now, how to watch the TV show for free thanks to a very generous one-month trial period from US-only streaming service, Hulu. We've got the full list of season 5 episode titles and broadcast dates, and much more.

The first was broadcast as part of a double-bill on September 14 in the United States, with the final episode drawing the fifth season to a close on November 9, 2022. In the UK, the first episode of season 5 was broadcast on October 23, 2022. New episodes were shown weekly, with on-demand viewing available via All4 or Amazon Prime Video after the fact. UK fans were treated to a double-bill on consequetive nights on December 18 and December 19, 2022 for the final two episodes of the hit show, dubbed Allegiance and Safe.

The Handmaid's Tale season 5 has exactly the same number of episodes as season 4 and season 1 of the hit Hulu show. However, it's a smaller number than seasons 2 and 3, which both had 13 episodes to tell their storyline. The next season, season 6, will be the final outing for the award-winning show, the creators have confirmed.

All episodes of The Handmaid's Tale season 5 are now available to watch on both All4 and Prime Video. That's because, somewhat confusingly, Channel 4 and Prime Video share the rights to broadcast The Handmaid's Tale in the UK. However, the choice of these two options is very good news as it means you won't need to subscribe to seek out the best Sky deals to catch-up with the latest episodes of the award-winning drama.

If you miss the latest episode as it airs on Channel 4, you'll be able to catch up on All 4. And if you're not up-to-date, you'll be able to watch the first four seasons of the show on All4 before tuning in for the latest instalment. If you'd prefer to watch the show without advertisements, Prime Video streaming service will also have The Handmaid's Tale. 041b061a72
