Plot
Kutti Puli (Sasikumar) is a happy-go-lucky ruffian who lives with his mother Deivanai (Saranya Ponvannan) in a small village. He does not believe in love or marriage until he meets Bharathi (Lakshmi Menon), a college student who changes his attitude. However, he also has many enemies who want to harm him and his family. One of them is MMS Moorthy (DMJ Rajasimhan), a ruthless hitman hired by an MP to kill Kutti Puli. Moorthy tries to kill Kutti Puli several times but fails due to Kutti Puli's luck and bravery. Meanwhile, Deivanai decides to seek forgiveness from the people whom Kutti Puli has hurt in the past and hopes that he will lead a peaceful life. But Moorthy is determined to take revenge on Kutti Puli and sets a trap for him. Will Kutti Puli be able to escape from Moorthy's clutches? Will he be able to marry Bharathi and make his mother happy? The rest of the story reveals the answers.
Review
Kutti Puli is a typical commercial masala film that has all the elements of action, comedy, romance, and sentiment. The film is aimed at the fans of Sasikumar, who plays his usual role of a rural hero with a heart of gold. He delivers a decent performance and carries the film on his shoulders. Lakshmi Menon is cute and charming as the love interest of Kutti Puli. She has a good chemistry with Sasikumar and adds some freshness to the otherwise cliched plot. Saranya Ponvannan is impressive as the mother of Kutti Puli. She portrays the emotions of a mother who loves her son unconditionally but also worries about his future. Bala Saravanan provides some comic relief as Kutti Puli's friend Pappu. The rest of the cast are adequate in their roles.
